mendis

(I think it was chappell) yesterday referred to Mendis as being a 'folded finger spinner' - which is a fantastic obscure term to be added to the lexicon.

Also, have you noticed that mendis bowling looks a bit like one of those accurate girl bowlers who wobble it around at about 60mph? That he can only move it up, down, left, right a few centimeters while bowling on a good length at the stumps seems to be good enough to take apart most batsmen however. It is hardly warne or murali spin, but it is very effective AND extremely annoying to get out to (like being bowled by a girl).

considering the speed at which he's bowling and the fact that he's often using one or even half a finger, it's a miracle it turns off the straight at all. But what's key is the combination of the slight turn, the speed and the straightness that seem to make him a nightmare to face. You have to read him out of the hand, or you're fucked because he bowls so fast, and if you make even a slight mistake you're fucked, because he bowls so straight. SL look really good.
By the way Pat, is that you on king cricket calling yourself 'Pat'.

I'm the sensible 'pat' on King Cricket. He's annoying me with the 'aussies have so much depth' crap and it needs to be pointed out that this is lazy twaddle.

Pat, is it just you and me on here now?

it would appear that way.

I feel like one of those little people in Wii world who go around chatting to each other. It is, however, a very large, empty world with only you and me in it.

you all keep different hours to me. and never reply to what i write, because i write it a day late, and by then you're all off doing something new. i will try to write things a day early from now on.

i have just emerged to see us win a game. how strange.

by the way, the reason why medis is good is because you can't pick him, its qick'ish, and because he turns it both ways only slightly. therefore, if you play the line you get lb'ed or edge it. if he span it any more neither would tend to happen (if you insisted on playing the line only, that is).
