Thoughts of Chairman Lucy

The well known cricket writer Lucy Jarman is incensed at Matthew Prior's return to see his newborn, on the grounds that not only has he already missed the birth and is also being paid a lot of money, but also because, as an international cricketer, he should have had a quick glance at the future tours programme when planning to have a baby.  As is often the case, I agree with what(ever) she says.  Also, it does leave our team looking suspiciously shit.  Any thoughts- we're most of us fathers or fathers to (VERY soon) be?

Also, welcome back Pakistan, and well done Younis!

the test match was very good as well - what other game takes 4 and a half days to get exciting. none. marvelous.

have you guys been watching skins? that is ace as well; although i really want to beat up the annoying twat-character. one of you please do so. i'm thinking of showing it in the office - i think the god fearing, alcohol avoiding Singaporeans would implode in shock.

i actually think that the team doesn't look too bad ON PAPER. but i can't actually remember the last time we had golden player like harminson in WI, MV is australia etc. i suspect that there is no way in hell that any of them have 300 in them. or could change a match in about 3 balls like danish did yesterday.

1 Andrew Strauss (capt)
2 Alastair Cook (MV)
3 Owais Shah (or MV)
4 Kevin Pietersen
5 Ravi Bopara
6 Collingwood (flintoff)
7 Tim Ambrose (wk) (prior)
8 Stuart Broad
9 Rashid (or swann)
10 Kahn
11 Harmison

but it only takes one great moment to change things (harmy's ball at langer, for instance). also, if either of the teams played 5 bowlers yesterday, then one would have won. neither has all rounders to speak of.

to paraphrase billy joel
"he cries like a child,
but he'll always be Younis
to me."
Huh, 'Younus'. You'll be telling me Yousuf Youhana's changed his name next.
